After a tour around (free) Derry, Ireland, we were at a loss as to where to eat dinner and we were pretty hungry. The tour guide had suggested we get “chicken box pizza at Paolos.” So, of course, having no idea what “chicken box pizza” was, we had to try it.
This small local pizzeria turned out to be the perfect choice for dinner. If it hadn’t been for the recommendation, we never would have been able to find this hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Based on what our tour guide said, we all ordered the chicken box pizza. The restaurant could barely fit our whole tour group but we managed to take over every chair and table in there as we devoured our delicious boxes of mini pizza pies.

The chicken box pizza, which can probably feed more than one, depending on how hungry you are, (I, however, chose not to share it) is a pizza pie with chicken, mozzarella cheese, and three sauces: garlic mayo, barbecue sauce, and something resembling ranch dressing. The crust is soft but sturdy enough to hold the tasty toppings layered on top and the flavors mingle so well with each other. It’s safe to say I inhaled this entire pie in one sitting. If you’re ever visiting Derry, you have to stop by Paolos Pizzas on William Street and grab a pie.
